Is it normal that cold-pressed edible oils become murky and flaky?
Cold-pressed edible oil should be kept rather cool (at approx. 12 º - 18 º C), dark and dry. Low temperatures may result in a darkening of the oil or in flakes appearing in it. These changes do not mean any quality loss, but are rather signs of the oil’s naturalness, comparable to the crystallization of honey. At warming up to room temperature the cold-pressed edible oil becomes clear again without any quality losses. Shaking the bottle may additionally support the dissolution process.
